About this trip
This seven-day ski expedition to Georgia is designed to develop students' confidence, resilience, teamwork and independence through professional ski instruction, mountain-based activities and collaborative challenges. Alongside time on the slopes, students gain insight into geography, culture, sustainability and outdoor leadership, with the high-altitude terrain of the Greater Caucasus providing a first-hand context for the study of mountain environments, climate and snow conditions.
The programme is based at Gudauri, Georgia's premier ski resort, which sits between 2,000 and 3,300 metres above sea level and is known for reliable snowfall, modern lift systems and wide-open slopes suited to all abilities. Four ski days with instructors are complemented by a cable car ascent, snowmobile rides and recreational snow play, allowing beginners and more confident skiers alike to progress in a supportive setting.
Cultural learning is built into the itinerary at either end of the trip, with an orientation tour of Tbilisi on arrival and a guided walking tour of the Old Town on the return, taking in Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress, the Sulfur Bathhouses, Meidan Square, the Bridge of Peace and Anchiskhati Basilica. The group departs Dubai on 9 January 2027 with Fly Dubai and returns on 15 January, staying at Hotel 21 Tbilisi (4★) and Hotel Carpe Diem Gudauri (4★). Premium Choice Travel staff accompany the group throughout to provide on-site support, and the price is based on 20 students with two teachers travelling free of charge.
The itinerary
Arrival in Tbilisi
Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, where you will be welcomed by a local representative and transferred by private coach to your centrally located hotel, approximately 30 minutes away. After checking in at Hotel 21 Tbilisi and taking some time to freshen up, you will begin an enjoyable orientation tour of Georgia’s fascinating capital.
Journey to the mountains of Gudauri
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will travel north from Tbilisi towards the spectacular Caucasus Mountains. The scenic journey takes approximately two hours and forty minutes, passing through picturesque valleys and traditional Georgian villages. On arrival, you will explore Gudauri, one of Europe’s highest ski resorts, while learning about the region’s geography, climate and mountain culture. You will then check in at Hotel Carpe Diem Gudauri, settle into your room and prepare your ski equipment before enjoying some free time and dinner.
Mountain adventure at Gudauri Ski Resort
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will spend another exciting day on the slopes of Gudauri Ski Resort, including a ride on the cable car system for spectacular panoramic views across the snow-covered Caucasus Mountains. You will also enjoy snow-based activities, such as snowmobile rides and recreational snow play in designated areas, while building confidence, teamwork and resilience. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Free ski day in Gudauri
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will spend another exciting day on the slopes of Gudauri, making the most of the resort’s wide-open terrain and excellent snow conditions. Whether you are a beginner or a more confident skier, you will develop your technique and build confidence with support from qualified instructors. The day will also encourage independence, resilience and a rewarding sense of personal achievement.
Skiing in Gudauri
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will return to the slopes for another exciting day of skiing at Gudauri. As you explore more of the resort’s runs, you will continue developing your skiing skills while enjoying the spectacular high-altitude mountain setting. The day will encourage independence, teamwork and personal achievement before you return to your hotel for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Gudauri to Tbilisi city tour
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will begin the scenic journey back to Tbilisi, travelling for just under three hours through the magnificent Greater Caucasus Mountains. On arrival, you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic Old Town, visiting Metekhi Church overlooking the Mtkvari River, Narikala Fortress, the famous Sulfur Bathhouses, Meidan Square, the lively Shardeni district, the Bridge of Peace and Anchiskhati Basilica. Afterwards, you will check in at Hotel 21 Tbilisi and enjoy dinner and your final evening in Georgia.
Departure from Georgia
After enjoying your final breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and transfer by private coach to Tbilisi International Airport, approximately 30 minutes (25 km) away. You will be collected around three hours before your scheduled departure, allowing plenty of time for a smooth and comfortable check-in.
